Re: Question about lash, or play in drive line on an 85
Check this out on my EGR cleaning: https://tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1496&highlight=egr/ Note that this is before I gave up on the OE carb and emissions spaghetti and went with a Weber (MO now has no emissions inspections for pre-'96 cars). The only "emission item" I've kept...

Re: New here with an 85 SR5
Welcome! It looks like you scored a car that will last for many decades. Where are you located? After years of owning Morris Minors, I bought a new '64 122S. One of the best cars I ever owned. I kept it until '67 when Minors were again imported - but I'll always have fond memories of that Volvo. Odd...

Re: Question about lash, or play in drive line on an 85
Ditto on both dlb's and Petros' advice! In '06 I renewed the engine and trans mounts and much of the clunks went away. In '07 I replaced ALL of the front bushings, strut inserts, and springs, but a clunk still manifested itself on occasion . In '10 I replaced the rear driveshaft and support bearing ...

For anyone forced to fabricate their own brake hard lines, this is an awesome tutorial: https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/articles/8-secrets-you-need-bend-and-flare-pro-quality-brak/ XLNT! Thanks! Hopefully, I'll never have to utilize it on Goldie, but wish it would have been available when I repla...

If you do not drive much on the highways (high RPMs), it should be eminently suitable.

Thanks, Matt! Love the pump in the last photo - I sold dozens of them back in the '80s-'90s! It is the Meidai Top Super model, which Meidai also made under the Schwinn and Rampar (Raleigh) labels. The only floor pump as good as that was the Zefal Double Shot, which pumped in both directions. Tom M.
