Re: sudden dying at stop now and then

Petros...I messed with that screw and it definitely changed my idle. I noticed the TP wasn't moving though...applied vacuum to it manually and it held fine. Pulled and tested the TVSV and sure enough it's bad.

Now to find a good one that doesn't cost $50.

Re: Issues with 4AC swap in a 1981 DLX

... a lot of accessories - the distributor being the main one of concern. Way back before the old engine blew, I just sort of figured I had a faulty TVSV, since that's what Toyota TVSVs do, they go bad, and the VSV never really seemed to be getting any vacuum. So I bypassed the TVSV and set up the ...

Re: Car drinks Petrol !

Finally I could correct the problem with your help. AAP pump was directly connected to manifold vacuum since the TVSV valve was removed. It was the major cause of the fuel loss. After corrected that and capped the pump vacuum connection, 80% of the problem solved. Instead of that ...

Re: AAP pump connected to engine vacuum directly

it should not be connected directly to vacuum. it should only be activated during acceleration when it is running after a cold start. the TVSV isolates it after warm up. if the AAP is leaky, it will be the cause of your flooding and poor fuel economy. Important: cap off both ends of vac line, ...

... lines just disappear. From my understanding there's a plug needed on the exhaust manifold and you can plug or remove the EGR. Not sure about the TVSV yet. I'll definitely take pictures as I do the swap. From all the posts I've read on them it seems like people really like them. It may require ...

... each fuel circuit in parallel, with separate vac lines and sensors for each. so there are twice as many sensors as well. and toyota's use of the TVSV saved us some extra sensors, in the honda, that used similar devices, but used one separate sensor and vac line for each function, times two for ...
